Why are you seeking elective office?

I wish to have the opportunity to improve, to the fullest extent possible, the board’s ability to be open and transparent with our entire community. I would like to see the board become more proactive in community engagements.

The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.

Test Scores, I intend to support the staff and administration to provide them with necessary tools needed to help our students improve scores.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I am open minded and to the best of my ability keep my personal beliefs separate from board business.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

My military and law enforcement backgrounds have afforded me the opportunity to work in stressful environments and, as a result, learn effective skills in planning, risk management, and decision-making along the way. I feel, with these skills and my ability to listen to both sides of an argument, I can provide our children the best opportunity to be a part of a successful learning environment.

The best advice ever shared with me was:

Be a good listener, it’s going to be difficult to learn something if your always talking over the other person.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

It is my opinion that the success of our school system does not rest solely on the shoulders of the faculty and staff, but a major part of that success will occur within the walls of the student’s home. Parental involvement is crucial in the success of our children.
