OCEAN COUNTY, NJ — Another weekend is nearly upon us, and now that summer's unofficially kicked off, there's no shortage of fun events in Ocean County.
Whether you want to get outside to shop, hike or something else, there's something for you. Here's what's going on this weekend:

Point Pleasant Summerfest
Point Pleasant Community Park, 2255 Bridge Ave., Point Pleasant
The 33rd annual Summerfest kicks off on Friday night with bands, food and beer, but the real fun is the next day with music, food trucks, vendors and more. Find out more here.

National Trails Day
Wells Mills County Park, Waretown
You can celebrate this at any one of Ocean County's parks, of course, but a family-friendly event is hosted at Wells Mills. It features hiking, crafts and games.
June 3, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Doggie Derby and Family Fun Day
Jones Road Park, Forked River
This dog-friendly event includes shows, games, vendors, a bouncy house and more. Plus, pet novelty contests. Admission is $5 per person and max $20 per family; kids under 10 are free.
June 4, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
