LONG BEACH ISLAND, NJ — Much of Long Beach Boulevard is closed due to back bay flooding, officials announced Monday afternoon. The street is closed from 31st to 92nd Street.

Long Beach Township police announced the closure at about 3 p.m. Please use back roads, the department said.

The tide level peaked at 4.12 feet on the mean low water scale Monday afternoon, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

The figure constitutes "minor" flooding on Long Beach Island, which falls between 3.5 feet and 4.5 feet.
