Multiple Cars Burglarized On Long Beach Island

Several LBI police departments echoed a similar message: lock your vehicles.

SURF CITY, NJ — Surf City police received multiple reports Wednesday morning of thefts from vehicles. The incidents prompted several Long Beach Island police departments to send a similar message: lock your vehicles.

All vehicles targeted were left unlocked, according to Surf City police. The thefts weren't centralized to any specific area.

Surf City police asked people to report thefts to them at 609-494-8121.

"If you have security cameras and smart doorbells (ring, nest, etc), please check them for motion/activity and report anything suspicious to our department," Surf City PD wrote on Facebook.

The Ship Bottom Police Department was among several around LBI to remind people to keep things locked.

"Everyone knows LBI is basically paradise but crimes are committed everywhere, even in paradise," the agency wrote. "Don’t make yourselves more susceptible by leaving vehicles unlocked. - LOCK YOUR CAR DOORS."

Long Beach Township police wrote the following on Nixle:

"Due to recent car burglary’s throughout area, please lock your vehicles along with removing your keys/key fobs and valuables."
