National Prescription Take Back Day: Where To Drop Yours In Barnegat

April 30 is National Prescription Take Back Day. Here's where you can dispose of your unwanted meds in Barnegat.

BARNEGAT, NJ — The Barnegat Police Department has announced their participation in the DEA National Prescription Take Back Day on April 30. Barnegat residents will be able to dispose of unused or unwanted prescription medications in a safe way.

You can dispose of your medication at the Barnegat Township Municipal Court located at 900 West Bay Ave. It will be open between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Participants can dispose of medication in its original container or by removing the medication and placing it into the disposal box. Intravenous solutions, syringes and injectables will not be accepted.

The purpose of Prescription Take Back Day is to prevent medication misuse and opioid addiction from starting, according to DEA. For more information and other collection sites, visit DEA here.
