NJ School Bathroom Stabbing Under Investigation: Police
The high school was under a shelter-in-place order on Friday while the incident was investigated, police said.

BARNEGAT, NJ - A bathroom fight at a New Jersey high school on Friday is under investigation after a student was stabbed, police said.
One student at Barnegat High School was treated for non-life threatening injuries, Barnegat police said in a statement.
A school resource officer in the building was notified of the fight around 7:48 a.m., police said. As additional police officers were called to the location, the school was issued a shelter-in-place order to ensure that each student involved in the fight was safe, according to Barnegat Superintendent of Schools Brian Latwis.

Charges are pending the completion of the ongoing investigation.
The incident comes days after a shooting at a school in Texas killed 19 students and two adults. It also comes days after Gov. Phil Murphy and state Attorney General Matthew Platkin vowed to “immediately” increase police presence at New Jersey schools in light of the Texas shooting.
"Our students, their families and caregivers, teachers, and school administrators should feel safe in school, and be assured that New Jersey's law enforcement agencies will do everything in their power to protect them," Platkin said earlier this week.
