Popular Jersey Shore Cheese Shop Closed Due To Nor'easter Damage

BEACH HAVEN, NJ — A popular Long Beach Island cheese store will be closed until further notice due to extensive damage from this past weekend's nor'easter.

"It is with a heavy heart that we announce that our Beach Haven Cheese Shoppe will be closed until further notice due to the extreme flooding caused by the late September nor'easter," the Cheese Shoppe shared on social media.

In the meantime, the Surf City location remains open, the store owners said.

A GoFundMe has been launched to support the Cheese Shoppe's employees who have found themselves suddenly out of work.

"When a storm closes a shop, it does not just impact a business," the fundraiser reads. "It impacts the people who show up every day and depend on that work to support themselves and their families. These are the team members who are always there with a friendly smile and a tasty recommendation, and now they need their community’s help."

The fundraiser said that all donations will go toward employees until the shop reopens or they can find other work.

"Right now, our biggest concern is making sure these incredible team members have support as they face the months ahead," the fundraiser reads.
