Pedestrian Struck In Parking Lot Of Southern Ocean Medical Center

The injured woman was pinned underneath the vehicle, police said.

A township woman was taken Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune on Friday after she was struck by a car in the parking lot of Southern Ocean Medical Center, police said.

Jane Masick, 66, was hit by a 2014 Honda CRV driven by Teresa Butler, 59, of Ship Bottom, at 5:05 p.m. Butler told police she was leaving the parking lot when snow which had accumulated on her roof slid down the windshield, and blocked her view. She tried to move the vehicle into a parking spot and did not see Masick crossing in front of her, according to the police report.

Masick was pinned under the vehicle and had to be extricated by members of the Stafford Fire Company, police said.
