Poor Forecast Postpones Barnegat's Hoofy Fest

New Jersey is in for yet another rainy weekend. The annual Hoofy Fest, originally set for Oct. 21, will be held a later date.

More rain in the forecast means Hoofy Fest will be held at a later date.

BARNEGAT, NJ — Will New Jersey ever see a sunny weekend again? We're not likely to this Saturday, which is why Barnegat Recreation has preemptively decided to postpone Oct. 21's Hoofy Fall Fest.

Hopefully, the rain will stop on Nov. 4, which is Hoofy Fest's new date.

The fourth annual Hoofy Fest, in honor of the late Officer Alex Hoffman, will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 11 Birdsall St.

Since then, the community has organized Hoofy's Fall Fest as a way to memorialize Hoffman and to raise money for the Alex Hoffman Memorial Scholarship Fund.

There will be fun for the whole family. Mom and dad can enjoy local breweries and wine vendors, while kids can have fun with a petting zoo, inflatables, face painting, pumpkin decorating, games and more.

Food trucks and craft vendors will be present while live music and entertainment plays.

At 6 p.m., there will be a showing of "Hocus Pocus" on the lawn.
Hoofy's Fall Fest was organized by officers Tim Bradshaw and Lauren Keilitz, both of whom worked closely with Hoffman, Patch previously reported.

"It's amazing the amount of support we have received from the community," Bradshaw told Patch at the first fest in 2019. Read More: Barnegat's 'Hoofy's Fall Fest' Remembers Officer Alex Hoffman
