Popular Beachview Farms In Manahawkin Closing, At Least For Now

Property owners no longer want to invest in the farm, report says

Beachview Farms manager Chris Adams recently and regretfully announced that the popular organic farm will have to close indefinitely, “due to some unfortunate circumstances,” according to The Sandpaper.

Adams said that landowner Dennis Adanatzian and his son do not want to make any more investments in the farm.

Adams spent three years cultivating the farm and felt he was nearing his goal of giving people alternatives for fresh food. He posted this message on the farm’s Facebook page recently.

“It is with great sadness, we are letting everyone know that this weekend 10/16, 17th and 18th will be our last weekend open for retail operations and pumpkin picking.

We would like to thank all of those who supported us through our three-year journey, but due to some unfortunate circumstances Beach View Farms will be closing indefinitely.

Our CSA members should note that we will be finishing out the fall season, but pick ups may change so keep an eye out for an email soon.

With Warm Regards,

Farmer Chris”

The good news is that Adams has already received offers from other farms, including Alstede Farms in Chester and Sassafras Hill Farm in Barnegat.

“Everything happens for a reason,” he said.
