BARNEGAT, NJ — On June 6, voters in New Jersey head to the polls to vote in the 2023 primary election.

This year, Barnegat residents will be electing two Township Committee members.

Barnegat is also voting for the Ocean County Surrogate, one Commissioner seat and for a State Senate and two General Assembly seats.

Here's who's on the ballot for the primary:

  • Township Committee: Incumbents Joseph Marte and Alfonso Cirulli are seeking another term as the Republican nominees. Charles Cunliffe and Ronald Naples are seeking the Democratic nomination.
  • Surrogate: Incumbent Jeffrey W. Moran seeks another term as the Republican candidate. Charles D. Bauer seeks the Democratic nomination.
  • County Commissioner: Both Frank Sadeghi and Francis "Frank" Quinn are seeking the Republican nomination for one seat. Running uncontested for the Democratic nomination is Roxanne L. Barnes.
  • General Assembly: Two seats are open in the Ninth Legislative District. Running together for the Republican nomination are incumbent Brian Rumpf and Stafford Mayor Greg Myhre. Joseph Atura and Sarah "Sally" Collins are seeking the Democratic nomination.
  • State Senate: After the retirement of Sen. Christopher Connors, Berkeley Mayor Carmen Amato is seeking the Republican nomination. Gabriel Franco is seeking the Democratic nomination.
