Relive History At 'The Affair At Cedar Bridge' In Barnegat
Watch a Revolutionary War battle in real life as performers reenact what may have been the war's last skirmish.

BARNEGAT, NJ — Experience history in real life and learn more about the local area with "The Affair at Cedar Bridge" reenactment this weekend in Barnegat.
Each year, the Ocean County Parks & Recreation Department along with the Ocean County Cultural and Heritage Department perform a reenactment of what is believed to be the last skirmish of the Revolutionary War, which apparently occurred at the Cedar Bridge Tavern. The event runs from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 200 Old Halfway Road in Barnegat, with skirmishes at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Along with the historical fun, attendees can indulge in the period Switchel drink, cozy up around a fire pit and enjoy live music while engaging in crafts or games.
Plus, there will be historic storytelling and guided tours of the 200-year-old restored tavern.

This will be the 20th commemoration of the affair, which occurred 241 years ago in 1782.
Participants should park along Ocean County Route 610 and the County will provide shuttle busses to the fully restored Ocean County Historic Site.
The outdoor event is held rain or shine.
