Route 9 Hit-And-Run Sends Scooter Rider To Hospital: Stafford Police
Jose Cruz-Jaimes, 27, of Manahawkin, was flown to a trauma center; police said they are searching for a white SUV with front-end damage.
MANAHAWKIN, NJ — Stafford Township police are searching for the driver in a hit-and-run crash that sent a Manahawkin man to the hospital Wednesday morning.
Jose Cruz-Jaimes, 27, of Manahawkin was crossing Route 9 at McKinley Avenue on a motorized scooter when he was hit by a white SUV about 7:45 a.m., police said.
The SUV, possibly a newer model Ford Edge, was turning right onto Route 9 from McKinley Avenue when it hit Cruz-Jaimes, police said. The driver took off, leaving Cruz-Jaimes injured at the scene, police said. He was flown to Atlantic City for treatment in a trauma unit, they said.

Police do not have a description of the driver. A photo of the vehicle is below.
