Scholarships Awarded To Barnegat, Southern Regional Students

Barnegat-based developer Walters has awarded four local high school students with $8,000 in scholarship money.

BARNEGAT, NJ — Local real estate developer Walters has awarded $8,000 in scholarships to four area high school seniors.

Since its inception in 2006, the Walters annual scholarship program has presented an estimated $100,000 in financial support to local students, the developer said in a news release.

This year’s recipients are Madison Frances Pampalone and Lindsey Pampalone from Southern Regional High School, and Anthony Ryan and Alexis Jason from Barnegat High School. Each was awarded a $2,000 scholarship to be applied to any area of study at an accredited institution.

“We are proud to invest in these outstanding students and support them in furthering their education,” said Ed Walters Jr., Walters’ founder and partner, who grew up in southern Ocean County and attended Southern Regional High School. “A commitment to our local communities is part of our mission here at Walters.”

Walters said they support numerous organizations including the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, hurricane relief, Habitat for Humanity, Toys for Tots, Barnegat Volunteer Fire Company, and Barnegat and Stafford Girls Softball Leagues.
