School Board Race Stays Close In Barnegat, Per Unofficial Results
The highly-contested election, with six vying for three seats, remains tight with with only a few votes separating each candidate.

BARNEGAT, NJ — Who will serve on the Barnegat Board of Education? That question remains as of Wednesday afternoon, as unofficial results from the Ocean County Clerk's Office reflect an incredibly tight race.
Six candidates were vying for three open seats. As of the clerk's latest update at 3:50 p.m. on Nov. 8, only 129 votes separated the top vote-getter (Sandra Churney) and the lowest vote-getter (Colleen Angus), both of whom are incumbents.
The top three, per the unofficial numbers, are Churney (2,280), Doreen Continanza (2,260) and George Fedorczyk, Jr. (2,242).

Following them are incumbent Lauren Washburn (2,220), Summer Spagnuolo (2,189) and Angus (2,151).
Fedorczyk, Spagnuolo and Angus, running together on the "Believe In Barnegat" ticket, have signaled that they are not giving up the fight just yet.

"While we wish the results were a little more in our favor the fact is this election is not quite over," the team shared in a Facebook update. "It's still a very tight race as we await the early and mail in ballots to be counted."
All votes must be certified by the clerk by Nov. 22.
