Ship Bottom PD: Please Don't Break The Law As Much While It's Hot

SHIP BOTTOM, NJ — It's not so fun to work during heat like last weekend's. But that didn't stop Ship Bottom police from having some fun with it.

Ship Bottom PD pleaded on its Facebook page Saturday for people to keep law breaking to a minimum until it gets a little cooler out.

"Listen, it’s real hot out this week so if you all could do us a favor and keep the criminalling and law breaking to a bare minimum we’d really appreciate it," Ship Bottom PD wrote. "Maybe just stay inside and don’t do anything until like September? Idk, that’d be kinda cool with us.... just sayin’."

The Braintree Police Department in Massachusetts put out a similar plea for people thinking of doing criminal activity to "hold off until Monday.

Braintree PD thanked everyone Monday after a weekend of zero arrests.

Temperatures reached as high as 100 degrees in Ship Bottom last weekend, with heat indexes reaching triple digits, according to the weather archive on timeanddate.com.
