Some Library Computer Systems Down on March 7
Online and in-person computer systems affected for the day

Taking a trip to the library March 7 or hoping to use its website? Some services will be down Wednesday, said Lawrence Meegan, a library spokesperson.
Due to an upgrade in the computer systems the Ocean County Library uses, there's downtime expected March 7 that will interrupt some computer functions for the day.
The service interruptions will affect some services available online, and in person. Affected times are between 6 a.m. Wednesday, March 7 to 6 a.m. March 8.

The online catalog will be down.
The library's automated telephone renewal system will not be available.
The library PCs will be available only with a guest pass from the Informaton Services Desk.
The online database of eLibraryNJ will still be operating March 7.
All of the library will be affected, including the Barnegat Branch.
Meegan said in a news release that the upgrade and testing will last the day, but will set the foundation for potential future features. That includes a Mobile PAC program, which allows customers to access the online catalog via their smartphones and mobile devices; text messaging of notification of holds and overdue items; and federated searching.
