WASHINGTON TWP., NJ — A Southern Ocean motorcyclist was killed in a Burlington County crash when he ran off the roadway and hit a tree, New Jersey State Police said.
Troopers responded to the one-vehicle crash at 9:58 p.m. Sunday on Route 542 in Washington Township. The driver — Andrew Uveges, 31 — sustained fatal injuries, according to Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron, a State Police spokesperson.
He was heading west on Route 542 when he ran off the roadway to the right and his motorcycle overturned, Lebron said. Uveges was flung from the motorcycle and hit a tree, Lebron said.

Lebron said Uveges was from Lanoka Harbor, though an obituary from Layton's Home for Funerals in Forked River said he was a resident of Tuckerton.
"Andrew is remembered for his warm spirit, infectious laughter, and the joy he brought to everyone he met," his obituary reads. "He was a cherished father, brother, son, and friend. Everyone will deeply miss his vibrant presence in their lives."
