Southern Regional High School Makes Top 100 List Of High Schools In New Jersey
Niche.com ranked the best public high schools in the state of New Jersey.

Southern Regional High School in Manahawkin has been ranked number 75 of the top 100 high schools in New Jersey, according to Niche.com
Niche.com is dedicated to evaluating U.S. and Puerto Rican schools based on parent and student reviews.
The 9-12 public high school on Cedar Bridge Road has 2,000 students. The high school has a 89 percent graduation rate, compared to the national average of 81 percent.

“Southern Regional offers 12 AP classes and a number of Honors classes,” one student wrote. “Teachers are dedicated to the students and encourage them to push themselves. Almost every teacher offers after class help and students are encouraged to take advantage of this.”
The website uses a very detailed set of methods to rank the top 100 schools in New Jersey. The site collected 4.6 million opinions from 280,000 New Jersey students and parents.

According to Niche.com, a high overall ranking includes the following criteria:
- Students are very happy with their experience in all aspects including academics, teachers, health, safety, resources, facilities, extracurriculars, sports, and fitness;
- District schools are exceptional academic institutions in terms of teachers, students, resources for learning, and student outcomes;
- District schools are made up of a diverse population and fosters an accepting, positive school culture;
- Students are actively involved in a variety of extracurriculars and sports the district offers.
