Students and staff will place flags for all military personnel who died in Iraq and Afghanistan

Southern Regional High School and Middle School students will honor the fallen from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars with its annual ”Field Of Flags” in preparation for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend.
Students and staff will each place a 12” by 18” flag in front of the high school for each of the 6,847 veterans lost in the two conflicts. The flags will be placed on May 21, when students come out to the site during one of their classes.
The school district will hold a Memorial Day service at 10:30 a.m. on May 22, with more than 100 students participating in the choir, orchestra and student readings. The community is invited to attend the ceremony.
