World Language Honor Societies

Southern Regional inducted 152 students into the French, German, Japanese, Latin and Spanish Honor Societies. Seniors conducted the ceremony, presenting conversations and poems in various languages.

The Honors Select Choir also performed several songs in foreign languages. The induction ceremony culminated with the lighting of candles to symbolize the passage of knowledge from one generation to the next.

SRMS Hosts Book Drive

Southern Regional Middle School conducted a book drive throughout February. They donated gently used books in a drive co-sponsored by the middle school media center and the National Junior Honor Society.

Over 25 large boxes of books were collected through students' English classes. Underprivileged schools in South Philadelphia will receive them.

  • The Southern girls lacrosse team competed in and hosted the Shore Conference Ocean County Girls Lacrosse play date on Saturday. The event helped certify officials through US Lacrosse. Participating school also included Absegami, Brick Memorial, Cedar Creek, Pinelands and St. Rose.
  • Southern wrestling alum Owen Kretschmer made the NCAA Division III Academic All-American team at Castleton State.
  • Former Rams wrestler Nick Racanelli also made NCAA Division III All American team. Racanelli, who wrestles for Wilkes University, finished his collegiate career a three-time national qualifier with 112 wins.
