Southern Wrestlers Commit To Next Level
Southern's John Stout committed to the University of Pennsylvania wrestling team.

"He's been wrestling his dad and cousins since he's been able to walk," his team tweeted. "He's a multitalented guy. He can draw, gun, play guitar and also enjoys woodworking, boating and fishing!"
Wrestling runs through Stout's blood. The future Ivy Leaguer's father, also named John, coaches the team.

Southern's Nick Pepe also committed to wrestle at the Steven Institute of Technology.
Royal Good Time
Kids can dress as their favorite prince or princess at the second annual "Royal Tea" Feb. 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Southern Regional High School 11/12 cafeteria. This year's event features "Under the Sea Royalty" and includes crafts, storytelling, games and food.
The Royal Tea costs $20 for each child-adult pairing and $10 for each additional child. Southern Regional's Family, Career and Community Leaders of America chapter runs the gathering.

Sports Shorts
- Southern girls basketball player Jacqueline Ward earned Shore Sports Network's Girls Basketball Player of the Week. Shore Sports Network presented her with the award, a Surf Taco gift card, in a pregame ceremony Thursday before the Rams defeated Toms River South, 32-21. Ward was also accepted into the United States Coast Guard Academy.
- The Southern freshman girls track team won the Mid-Winter Classic on Jan. 14. The Rams also placed second in the Novice bracket.
