Southern Regional's Donohue Named Ocean County AD Of The Year

MANAHAWKIN, N.J. — Southern Regional High School Athletic Director Chuck Donohue, Jr. was named Ocean County AD of the Year. John DeGenito, of Raritan High School, earned the honor for Monmouth County.

Donohue and DeGenito were selected by their colleagues of the Shore Conference Athletic Directors. They will be recognized May 19 at a Sportsmanship Brunch.

SRMS Completes Book Mission

Southern Regional Middle School media specialist Ms. Stefanski delivered a truckload of books over spring break to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School in Philadelphia. The National Honor Society collected the books from middle school students.

The books will supplement classroom libraries and go home with students to share with their families.

Southern Student Commits To Coast Guard Basketball

Jacqueline Ward committed to the Coast Guard Academy women's basketball team. Below, Ward is surrounded by her parents and Southern Regional girls basketball coaches Eric Sharkey, (HC) Tom Bucci and Keith Cocuzza.

Sports Shorts

• The girls lacrosse team won the Shore Conference "A" South Division Championship for their first division title in program history. The Rams defeated Toms River South, 12-7, Thursday.
• The boys lacrosse team defeated Long Branch, 17-1, May 1 on Senior Night. The Rams followed with a 9-8 victory against St. John Vianney on Saturday in the Shore Conference Tournament.
