Stafford Police Captain Graduates From Prestigious FBI Academy
Capt. Thomas Dellane is second in command of police department and is a 29-year veteran.

Stafford Township Police Captain Thomas Dellane can now add a new qualification to his resume - graduate of the FBI National Academy Program.
Dellane recently graduated from the program in Quantico, Virginia. Less than one percent of police officers worldwide have been selected to attend since its inception in 1935, according to a police department release.
The FBI Academy offers ten weeks of advanced communication, leadership, and fitness training for selected officers. Dellane was one of 225 officers who graduated in September from 48 states.

Dellane earned the “Yellow Brick Road Award” for completing the final test of the fitness challenge. The Yellow Brick Road is a grueling 6.1-mile run through a hilly, wooded trail built by the Marines. Participants must climb over walls, run through creeks, jump through simulated windows, scale rock faces with ropes, crawl under barbed wire in muddy water, maneuver across a cargo net, and more.
“When (and if) the students complete this difficult test, they receive an actual yellow brick to memorialize their achievement,” the release states.
Training for the program is provided by the FBI Academy instructional staff, Special Agents, and other staff members holding advanced degrees, many of whom are recognized internationally in their fields of expertise.
