Stafford Rec. Summer Camp To Return, Look Different

Stafford Recreation will offer a limited summer camp and will comply with coronavirus measures.

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — Stafford Recreation will hold summer camp this year. But it will feature some modifications because of the coronavirus.

Staff will wear masks at all times and have their temperatures taken daily, with health surveys logged each day. Campers' temperatures will be taken, and parents will answer health survey questions daily before admittance is allowed.

Masks are not required for campers. But they're recommended for indoor camps and allowed at outdoor camps.

Stafford also won't offer certain programs this season, such as the trip camp and preschool camp. Campers must have completed kindergarten and can be going into seventh grade at the other end of the age spectrum.

The recreation department will offer abbreviated day-camp programs from July 13 to Aug. 13 at three different locations from 9 a.m. to noon — no camps on Friday. Indoor camps will run Monday through Thursday, while outdoor camps take place Monday through Wednesday, with Thursday as a makeup day for bad weather.
