Stafford School District Faces $496K In State Aid Cuts
The proposal from Governor Phil Murphy's administration would decrease the district's state funding by more than 5 percent.
MANAHAWKIN, NJ — The Stafford Township School District faces a $496,563 cut in state aid next school year, based on a proposal from Governor Phil Murphy's administration.
The cut would reduce Stafford's state aid by 5.48 percent to $8,569,069. The state cut the district's aid last school year by $368,984, bringing the 2019-20 total to $9,065,632.

Several Ocean County school districts and schools across New Jersey faced state aid cuts last year because of S2 aid reductions.
The Southern Regional and Barnegat school districts, meanwhile, are set to receive an increase in state aid.

Southern Regional is set to receive $2,800,453 — an 11.95 percent increase of $299,004. Barnegat would get $20,695,898 — a 0.78 percent increase of $159,963.
