Stafford Scout Builds Bat Houses For Eagle Project
Shawn Reed from Boy Scout Troop 65 led construction of six bat houses for his Eagle Scout service project.

A local Boy Scout completed an Eagle Scout service project that will help Stafford residents run into fewer mosquitos. Shawn Reed, of Boy Scout Troop 65, led the construction of six bat houses earlier this month.
Bats feed on mosquitos and other flying insects, so they perform valuable, natural pest control for the community. Stafford's Department of Public Works assisted with the project.

Two bat houses were placed in Mill Creek Park. The DPW helped ensure safety while installing them into trees. The other four will go in Lighthouse Park and Ocean Acres Park, the township said.
