Stafford Township Police Warn Of Increasing Vehicle Theft
Stafford police are urging residents to lock their vehicles after a car theft this past weekend.
STAFFORD, NJ — The Stafford Township Police Department is urging residents to be mindful and stay safe as vehicle thefts rise.
This past weekend, a high-end vehicle was stolen out of the victim's garage, police said. The incident is still under investigation, however, police are using this to remind residents to lock their car doors. An unlocked car door could potentially allow thieves into your house.
"It is not uncommon for garage door openers to be located within your vehicle," Stafford police said. "By leaving your vehicle unlocked, not only are you an easy target for vehicle theft, but you may be giving criminals access into your home."
