Truck, Credit Card Stolen In Manahawkin: Police

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — A Barnegat man is accused of stealing a pickup truck and then using the truck owner's credit card, Stafford police said.

Kevin C. Downes, 29, stole the pickup truck from the rear parking lot of Causeway Hyundai early Tuesday morning, police said.

The truck was later found at the Ocean County Mall with Downes inside, police said. He was taken into custody with assistance by Toms River police.

Investigation revealed that Downes also fraudulently used the truck owner's credit card, police said.

He was charged with motor vehicle theft, burglary, fraudulent use of credit cards and receiving stolen property.

Downes was taken to Ocean County Jail pending a future court appearance.
