Two Arrested on Outstanding Child Support Warrants

Barnegat men jailed late last week after arrests

Two Barnegat men who together allegedly owed tens of thousands in unpaid child support were arrested and jailed last week, according to the Barnegat Township Police Department.

James Hammer, 39, was arrested by Ptl. Alex Hoffman the night of Friday, Feb. 9 at his Gunning River Road residence. On the evening of Sunday, Feb. 12, Ptl. Nicholas Dapuzzo arrested Robert Booth III, also 39 and of Barnegat, after finding him at a Lexington Blvd. residence.

Both men were wanted on outstanding child support warrants out of the Ocean County Sheriff's Department, police said. Booth allegedly owed $16,000 in child support, and Hammer allegedly owed $26,120.

The men were both lodged in the Ocean County Jail in lieu of bail, said police.
