UPDATE: Tuckerton Seaport Giving Back With Free Community Gathering

Festivities and meal on Saturday after Thanksgiving for families in need and families who want to give.

Shortly after Superstorm Sandy slammed into the Jersey Shore in 2012, the Tuckerton Seaport and Baymen’s’ Museum wanted to help residents affected by the storm.

So they invited them in for a community meal and some pre-holiday festivities. The event was so successful they did it in 2013 and will do so again this year.

“Last year, the Seaport served over 578 guests. This year many of these local families are still in need and even more families are looking for ways to give back.” according to the Seaport‘s website.

All local families, regardless of need, are invited. The meal will be served under a large heated tent. The event will feature entertainment, family activities and make-and-take crafts for the holidays.

“Help us bring the Southern Ocean County community back together and let those in need know that we are all in the rebuilding effort together,” the website states.
