Utility Van Explodes In Beach Haven West: Police

One person was injured when there was an explosion inside of a plumbing/heating utility work van, Stafford police said.

STAFFORD, NJ — One man was injured Monday afternoon after an explosion inside of a heating/plumbing utility work van, Stafford police said.

Police were alerted to a vehicle fire shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 23 on Gregg Drive in Beach Haven West.

Upon arrival, they found no active fire, however, an explosion had happened inside of the van, police said.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the explosion was accidental, and there is no evidence of foul play, according to police.

One man was hospitalized, but the extent of his injuries is unknown.
