100th Running Of Far Hills Race Meeting Returns In 2021

The annual horse race had previously been canceled in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

FAR HILLS, NJ — The Annual Far Hills Race Meeting is back this year following last year's cancelation due to the coronavirus pandemic. On Saturday, Oct. 16, the steeplechase event will officially be celebrating its postponed 100th running.

"Cancelling last year's event was a huge blow — for the spectators who have made Far Hills Race Meeting a family tradition, and for the charities that rely on the race to meet their fundraising goal and help more community members," said Guy Torsilieri, chairman of the Far Hills Race Meeting. "But after 100 years of world-class racing and memory-making, we know that the spirit of this event and this community will be just as fervent this October."

General admission tickets and reserved tailgate spots have already been selling fast as families are excited to get back to the races.

Kennedy was especially happy to be able to once again raise funds for local, healthcare-oriented charities including:

With the pandemic still underway, Kennedy said the race meeting will follow any state guidelines required at the time of the race.

"It is too early to tell what specifics will be what required," said Kennedy.
