179 Coronavirus Cases, 18 Deaths: Latest Basking Ridge Update
The Pill Hill Recycling and Disposal site will also be reopening on Saturday, May 2 and Sunday. May 3.
BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Basking Ridge has a total of 179 positive cases and 18 deaths related to the new coronavirus as of Friday, according to Somerset County. Looking at the overall numbers, 10 percent of the confirmed cases in Basking Ridge have died.
Mayor Jim Baldassare also announced the Pill Hill Recycling and Disposal site will be reopening on Saturday, May 2 at 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, May 3 from noon to 4 p.m.
"I want to thank our Township Administrator Pat Monaco and our DPW Director, Jorge Casacuberta and his staff for putting the necessary pieces in place to allow this to happen," Baldassare said.

The township will be implementing some restrictions for the safety of all at the site including:

- There will initially be three vehicles in at a time to maintain good social distancing. This can change to increase the number based on how things develop going forward.
- No mulch pick up at the moment. This will be revisited in a few weeks to see how things are going.
- All residents must be wearing masks when they are out of their cars and speaking with the gate keeper.
- Staff will not be helping resident take things from their vehicles for their safety.
- Residents should bring their recycling cards and driver’s license.
- Most importantly patience from all residents.
