2 Lanes Closed, Heavy Delays On I-78 In Somerset County
The center and right lane on I-78 westbound are closed Friday to make emergency shoulder and guiderail repairs after a truck overturned.
BEDMINSTER, NJ — Two lanes are closed and drivers should expect heavy delays on I-78 west on Friday as New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) makes emergency shoulder and guiderail repairs near the Bridge over North Branch of Raritan River in Bedminster.
Beginning at noon, the center and right lane will be closed on I-78 westbound between mileposts 29.0 and 27.5 near the Bridge over the North Branch of the Raritan River in Bedminster.
The emergency shoulder and guiderail repairs are needed after an overturned truck damaged it Friday morning. At least one lane will remain open during construction.

Traffic in this area has been shifted to the right to use the shoulder as a travel lane as part of a project to replace the Bridge over the North Branch of the Raritan River. The emergency work is expected to last through the Friday evening commute and be completed later Friday.
Motorists should expect heavy congestion during Friday's evening commute.
