3 Eagle Scouts Honored By Bernards Township Committee
The Township Committee passed a resolution commending Jared Eric Mark, Edward Doherty, and Kevin Egan Taylor for their achievement.
BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Three Boy Scouts were honored by the Bernards Township Committee for attaining Eagle Scout at Tuesday night's meeting.
The Township Committee passed a resolution commending Jared Eric Mark, Edward Doherty, and Kevin Egan Taylor for their achievement.
"What they are able to demonstrate by achieving Eagle Scout is a tremendous focus, pose, and orientation toward a mission. It's quite a remarkable achievement that all three of you have achieved here. It's uncommon, it's something that you will carry with you for the rest of your lives," said Mayor Andrew McNally.

"Gentlemen, this is your time to shine. This is a time for you to enjoy this accomplishment. The character traits that you acquired in achieving Eagle Scout are assets that will pay dividends for the rest of your life. It never fails to blow me away and impress me when we are presented with the accomplishment of reaching Eagle Scout," said Committeeman Gary Baumann.
"I appreciate this more than you can imagine. The sacrifices that you have put in, the years to get to Eagle," said Committeewoman Jennifer Asay. "We make a big deal about this because it is a big deal."

Jared, Edward, and Kevin are members of Troop 54 of Boy Scouts of America.
"Of the total national enrollment of the scouting program, only a small percentage reach this prestigious rank, which Jared, Edward and Kevin will carry as a badge of honor," according to the township resolution.
