4 Ridge Students Win Awards In Morristown Festival Of Books Teen Writing Contest
Elena Nicholson, Grace Aulicino, Alexander Mahdavian, and Kyle Swan each won an award.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Four Ridge High School students won prizes as part of a teen writing contest for the 2022 KidFest / Morristown Festival of Books program.
Ridge High School winners:
- 2nd Prize / Elena Nicholson, “Mothers to Grandmothers” - 11th Grade
- 3rd Prize / Grace Aulicino, “The Boy Phoenix” – 11th Grade
- Honorable Mention / Alexander Mahdavian, “1965” – 11th Grade
- Honorable Mention / Kyle Swan, “Reminiscence,” – 12th Grade
"I was completely surprised and excited to have my story chosen. I am excited to enter more contests in the future..."said Aulicino.

Aulicino's mom Nicole said she was proud of her daughter and the other Ridge students.
"Ridge is producing strong creative writers!" said Aulicino.

The Morristown Festival of Books / Morristown Library sponsored a teen writing contest for all 9th- to 12th-grade students of a short story with less than 1000 words.
The contest was open to any teen in the state of New Jersey. A total of 63 teens participated and a panel of 5 judges independently ranked the submissions.
The awards were given out on Oct. 7 and Oct. 8.
