Affinity Federal Credit Union Foundation to Award $10,000 in Scholarships to Select Student Members
Affinity Federal Credit Union Foundation announces its annual scholarship award program, with the application process beginning March 1.

Basking Ridge, N.J. (March 1, 2017) – Affinity Federal Credit Union Foundation announced its annual scholarship award program, with the application process beginning today, March 1. This year, up to 10 members will be selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship.
The scholarships to be awarded include:
- The Robert L. Birkhahn Community Spirit Sponsorship: Dedicated to the late Affinity Executive Vice President Robert L. Birkhahn, this award is a tribute to the values and dedication to his community that Bob showcased throughout his life and time with the Affinity team. This award is for students who are graduating from high school and planning to attend an accredited two or four year college.
- The Richard A. Romano Rutgers Scholarship: In honor of Richard A. Romano, a former member of the Affinity Federal Credit Union Board of Directors, this scholarship is in tribute to the invaluable volunteerism and great contributions he has made to Affinity. Eligible students include current high school seniors intending to attend Rutgers, students transferring to Rutgers, and current Rutgers undergraduate students.
- The Affinity Continuing Education Scholarship: Dedicated to students who have completed at least one year of college, and who are continuing their pursuit of higher education. This award pays tribute to the students persevering in pursuit of their academic goals.
Committed to strengthening the communities it serves, the Affinity Federal Credit Union Foundation takes pride in helping members achieve their educational goals. This year’s scholarships will be awarded to members based on community involvement, academic achievement, and extra-curricular activities. All applications must be submitted online.
