Charter Day 2026 is set for Saturday, May 16, with events and performances running from 12 to 6 p.m., but area roadways will be affected as early as 8 a.m.
Bernards Township Police said the closures are being put in place so Charter Day can run "enjoyably, smoothly and safely."

Residents who live on S. Finley Avenue, Colonial Drive, Dyckman Place, Cedar Street, Rankin Avenue, Forbes Street or Lewis Street will still be able to drive to and from their homes with police direction.
Police also list several parking and traffic rules for nearby streets.
There will be no parking on the western side of Rankin Avenue. There will also be no parking on Lewis Street or Henry Street.
In addition, Lewis Street will be one-way from S. Finley Avenue to S. Maple Avenue during the event.
Drivers planning to attend Charter Day or travel through the area may want to allow extra time and watch for posted directions and police guidance.
