BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Bernards Township families preparing for the school year have two health-focused resources to consider in the coming weeks.
The township is promoting "Plan, Pack, Thrive: Back to School Meals Made Easy," a free webinar set for Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 12 to 12:45 p.m.
The lunch-hour session is described as an educational "lunch 'n learn" focused on helping families plan and prepare healthy meals for the fall.
According to the township, participants can "Head into the fall equipped with all you need to plan, prep, and pack healthy meals for you and your family."
The webinar will be presented by Tara Tomaino, RD, a health educator with the Bernards Township Health Department.
Registration is required.
People can register by contacting Tomaino at ttomaino@bernards.org or by phone at 908-204-3069. The township also provided an online registration link for the event.
The township is also sharing information about Back to School Child Health Clinics.
The clinics are for children from birth to age 18 who do not have health insurance.
The clinics include vaccinations, health check-ups, growth and development assessments, and health education for parents or guardians. A parent or guardian must be present at all visits.
Appointments for the child health clinics can be made through CVNA by calling 908-725-9355, Ext. 0.
