BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Bernards Township residents will have a chance to learn more about the New Jersey Highlands Water Protection and Planning Council during a community presentation.
The event is planned for Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m. in the Warren Craft Room at 1 Collyer Lane in Basking Ridge.
The presentation invites the community to hear from Ben Spinelli, executive director, and members of the New Jersey Highlands Water Protection and Planning Council.
According to the Township, the session will focus on the council's mission and purpose and will discuss what it means for Bernards Township to be located in the Highlands.
Topics listed for the presentation include local planning, along with tools and resources available through that process.
The Township also says the program will address state mandates, including stormwater management, affordable housing and other priorities.
Another topic is the benefits and impacts of conforming with the Regional Master Plan.
The event is framed as an opportunity for residents to get information directly from council representatives and ask questions about how Highlands-related policies connect to local planning.
