BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Bernards Township Health Department has announced its 2026 Fall Vaccine Clinic schedule, with six clinic locations for residents of Bernards Township, Bernardsville Borough, Chester Borough, Mendham Borough, Peapack & Gladstone Borough and Long Hill Township.
According to the announcement, the clinics will run from Sept. 14 through Oct. 22 at sites in Mendham, Bernardsville, Basking Ridge, Chester, Gillette and Peapack.
The department said the clinics will offer flu vaccines for children, adults and seniors. In addition to flu shots, the clinics also will offer pneumonia, TDAP and COVID vaccines. The announcement directs residents to the Public Nursing page at www.bernardshealth.org/public-health-nursing for clinic details and online appointment scheduling.
The schedule begins Monday, Sept. 14, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Garabrant Center, 4 Wilson St., Mendham. Additional clinics are set for Monday, Sept. 28, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Bernardsville Library, 1 Anderson Hill Rd., Bernardsville, and Wednesday, Sept. 30, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at St. James Church, 184 S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge.
Three more clinics are planned in October. They are Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Chester Municipal Building, 50 North Road, Chester, Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Long Hill Township Library, 917 Valley Road, Gillette, and Thursday, Oct. 22, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Peapack & Gladstone Borough Hall, 1 School Street, Peapack.
The announcement includes a reminder about the seasonal risk of influenza. According to the notice, flu is a vaccine-preventable, contagious respiratory illness caused by a virus and can involve fever, headache, aches, chills and extreme exhaustion. The department also said the influenza virus can lead each year to severe illness, hospitalization and deaths, especially among elderly people, young children and people with underlying health conditions.
The health department said flu shots are recommended annually before the end of October. The Bernards Township Health Department is the contractual health agency serving Bernards Township, Bernardsville Borough, Chester Borough, Long Hill Township, Mendham Borough, and Peapack and Gladstone Borough.
