BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Bernards Township Library is inviting residents to learn about local volunteer opportunities at its Adult Volunteer Fair on Friday, Nov. 13, in Basking Ridge.
The free event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is open to the public.
Community members will be able to meet representatives from a variety of local nonprofit organizations and learn about ways to get involved.
The library said the fair is designed to help people connect with organizations that match their interests, skills and availability.
Representatives from participating nonprofits will be on hand to talk about their missions, answer questions and share information about current volunteer needs and opportunities.
The event is aimed at adults looking for a meaningful way to give back in the community.
The fair may appeal to people who want to share professional skills, explore a new interest, meet like-minded people or simply help others.
The library described volunteering as a way to strengthen the community while also building connections with other residents.
The stated goal of the fair is to encourage attendees to discover an organization or cause that speaks to them and find a volunteer role that fits their schedule.
Organizers also said people do not need to commit to the full two-hour program.
Attendees are welcome to drop in at any time between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
