Basking Ridge Election Guide 2017: Where To Vote, Candidate List

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Tuesday is Election Day. We have compiled a list of all of the candidates running on the local and county level and also a list of polling locations.

Locally there is a contested race in Basking Ridge.

Township Committee:

In Bernards Township there are four candidates vying for two three-year seats on the township committee.

Republican incumbent John Carpenter is running for re-election. Newcomers also running include republican James K. Baldassare and democrats Sarah G. Booth and Joan B. Harris.

Board of Education:

For the Bernards Township School District there is an uncontested race with only two candidates vying for three three-year seats.

Candidates include Linda Wooldridge and Jennifer Korn. No petition was filed for the third slot.

Somerset County:

On the county level, both the freeholder and clerk races are contested.

There are four candidates vying for two three-year term seats for freeholder.

Republican Brian D. Levine of Somerset is the only incumbent running for re-election. Newcomers include republican Brian Gallagher of Somerville and democrats Alex Avellan of Basking Ridge and Shanel Robinson of Somerset.

There are two candidates vying for one five-year term as county clerk. Incumbent republican Brett A. Radi of Somerville is running for re-election against newcomer democrat Steve Peter of Somerville.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

• Districts 2,7 Basking Ridge Firehouse, 30 Washington Ave.
• District 3 Ridge Oak Senior Citizen Housing, 150 Manchester Drive
• Districts 4,21,22,23,24 Hills Recreation Center, 75 Hansom Road
• Districts 5,8 Somerset Hills Lutheran Church, 350 Lake Road
• Districts 9,10,17 Bernards Township Community Center, 289 South Maple Ave.
• Districts 11,15,19 Spring Ridge Clubhouse, 150 Spring Valley Blvd.
• Districts 12,14 Liberty Corner Firehouse, 95 Church St.
• Districts 13,18 Society Hill at Bernards II-Clubhouse, 239 Irving Pl.
• Districts 16,20 Fellowship Village, 8000 Fellowship Road
