Basking Ridge Hires Quarry Experts To Speak To Public
The 2 experts were hired for no more than $18,000 to speak on contamination and the lake on the proposed quarry site.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Bernards Township Committee agreed to pay no more than $18,000 to have two professionals speak about the Quarry Redevelopment Plan.
The committee voted and passed both resolutions at the Nov. 28 meeting. Committeewoman Carol Bianchi was the only one to vote no.
One professional service contract was awarded to Kenneth Hart with the firm The Elm Group who previously made a presentation on the older contamination issues at Millington Quarry during the early phase of the plan. His contract is for no more than $8,000 to hire him for his professional services.

“He presented reports that answered questions so we thought we should bring hm bck to answer questions at a public meeting,” said Tom Timko, township engineer at the Nov. 28 meeting. “It’s really about answering public questions.”
Another professional contract was awarded to Geoffrey Goll with the firm Princeton Hydro, who speak ore specifically on the lake aspect of the project. His contract is $260 per hour for his professional services, not to exceed amount of $10,000.

The next committee meeting is scheduled for Dec. 12 at town hall at 8 p.m.
