“While I do not remember receiving my first Nancy Drew book as a preteen,” says Passarello. “I do remember proudly displaying all my ‘yellow cover’ books in my bookcase. Fast forward 40-plus years, I now proudly display my collection of ‘vintage’ Nancy Drew mystery stories including the original 25-chapter versions, most with dust jackets. Reflecting back, I believe my interest centered on reading about an independent girl who was smart, decisive and took risks, who also dressed well, and drove a roadster.”
The exhibit will be open on Sunday, May 6, from 2 to 4 p.m., or on Charter Day, May 19.
