Basking Ridge Man Dies At 26, Fundraiser Set Up In His Memory

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Two weeks after Ridge High School graduate Jonathan Lloyd Lynn's 26th birthday he died.

Lynn died on Sept. 18 and family and friends have set up a fundraiser in his name to help cover funeral costs and to create a scholarship in his name. A total of $25,000 is looking to be raised with close to $12,000 already donated.

"Your donations will help cover the cost of his funeral as well as any left over money raised will be used to create a scholarship in Jon's name to be given to someone who shared his passion for film making, who can live out Jonathan's dream where as his life was cut too soon," according to the gofundme site.

The funeral would be held at Millington Baptist Church, where he served as a faithful member.

Lynn was born on Sept. 5, 1991. He attended Ridge High School in Basking Ridge, Raritan Valley Community College and Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU). He was a member of the MBC youth group and the Boy Scouts.

He loved playing guitar, drama, photography and nature. He also studied film-making in college, according to his obituary at Galloway & Crane.

Jon is survived by his devoted mother Carol Lynn, dear brother Christopher Lloyd Lynn, loving father John Scott and stepmom Michele, siblings Sarah and James, cherished grandparents Barbara D. Lynn, Frederick G. Lynn IV and his wife Donna Lynn, Jack Scott and Gloria Scott. He is also survived by many other dear and loving relatives including Aunt Susan and Uncle Jim Hobbie, cousins James and Elizabeth, Uncle Glen and Aunt Paola Scott, cousin Gabriel and countless friends around the country.

"We will remember him as an extraordinary man who lived life to the fullest and touched the hearts of many," according to the obituary.
