Basking Ridge resident among Oak Knoll School field hockey players named Harrow Sports/NFHCA All-Region
Senior Kirby Comizio '16 and sophomores Alison McCarthy '18 and Gabrielle Andretta '18 were among 17 players from New Jersey to be selected.

Three Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child field hockey players were named to the Harrow Sports/National Field Hockey Coaches Association’s All-Region team, the organization announced Thursday.
Senior Kirby Comizio ‘16 and sophomores Alison McCarthy ‘18 and Gabrielle Andretta ’18 were among 17 players from New Jersey to be selected.
McCarthy and Andretta are the first sophomores in Oak Knoll’s history to earn the distinction.

Selection to an All-Region or All-American team is based on the athlete’s high school performance and accomplishments during the current season, according to the organization. An athlete’s statistics, accolades, milestones and records from the current season are considered during the selection process.
“We are so proud and thrilled for Gabby, Kirby and Ali. A lot of hard work, commitment and dedication went into achieving this honor,” said Ali Good, field hockey coach. “The girls exemplify what our Oak Knoll field hockey program is about through their athletic and academic excellence.

“They strive for the best everyday they step on the field, which has been a huge reason for our team’s success this season,” she added. “We are so fortunate to have such skilled players, dedicated teammates and strong leaders in the three of them.”
The three student athletes were similarly named to NJ.com’s All-State teams late last month, with Comizio, of Basking Ridge being named to the publication’s First Team All-State. McCarthy, of Madison, and Andretta, of New Vernon, were named Second Team All-State.
The 2015 All-American Teams will be announced on Wednesday, December 16.
