Basking Ridge Roads To Receive Face-Lift

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Construction continues Tuesday in Basking Ridge on multiple roadways in the township.

Hessian Street and Lurline Drive

Hessian Street and a portion of Lurline Drive will be closed for surface course paving starting on Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hessian Street will be closed to all traffic during these times. Lurline Drive will be closed to all traffic from #99 Lurline past Hessian Street to the intersection of Lurline and Lurline.

All on-street parking is prohibited within the work area until final paving is complete. Residents should make alternate parking arrangements on Lurline Drive. Lurline Drive will be open for resident access from Valley Road to #99. Crews will return on Wednesday to complete paving of Lurline Drive.

Beechwood Road, North Brook Avenue and Conklin Street

Beechwood Road, North Brook Avenue and Conklin Street will be closed for surface course paving on Tuesday. The roads will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and access restricted.

A tar-like coating will be applied before paving; which can damage cars. All on-street parking is prohibited within the work area until final paving is complete. Residents should make alternate parking arrangements on different sections of Beechwood Road and North Brook Avenue.

Other 2018 Road Improvements

Construction work on the 2018 Road Improvements project will continue on Tuesday. Crews will be working on construction of new granite block curb and sidewalk on Dryden Road. Access to driveways will be restricted for residents on the south side (even house numbers) from #38 to #56 Dryden.

On street parking is prohibited in the work area. Residents should make alternate parking arrangements on a different section of Dryden Road or Byron Drive.

Work on storm sewer repairs on Marilyn Street will continue on Tuesday. Access to driveways may be restricted during working hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for residents at #11, #19 and #25 Marilyn Street. On street parking is prohibited in the work area. Residents should make alternate parking arrangements on a different section of Marilyn Street.

Drivers should use caution while traveling through work areas.
