Basking Ridge Seeks $500K In State GrantsFor Road Improvements

The Township Committee is has submitted a grant application for $500,000 to help cover improvements on two local roadways.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Township Committee is has submitted a grant application for $500,000 to help cover improvements on two local roadways.

The project will include improving Manchester Drive from South Maple Avenue (CR 657) to the end of public right-of-way, a distance of 0.55 miles, and Juniper Way from Manchester Drive to the end of public right-of-way, a distance of 0.48 miles.

The total cost is estimated t be $734,170. To offset some of the expenses the township is requesting $500,000 from the New Jersey Department of Transportation and will then cover the remaining balance of $234,170 on its own.

The Township Engineer and Municipal Clerk were authorized to submit the electronic grant application during the Sept. 26 committee meeting.
